“Dzyga”

Art Association “Dzyga” is a conglomeration of artists, public figures, businessmen assembled by different kinds of  cultural, creative  projects &  objects, namely clubs, festivals, media-projects, etc. It was founded in 1993 and united the representatives of “Students  Brotherhood” /pro-independence Ukrainian students  movement, 1989-1993/,  vanguard art circles /“Shlyakh” , 1989-1992/ and L’viv  Underground musicians /“Club Shanuval’nykiv  Chaju,  “ Mertvyj  Piven’”,  Festival of Underground ”Vy-Vyh” /

The most significant and resonant  projects of AA “Dzyga” are as follows: “Festival of Underground ”Vy-Vyh”,  Festivals:  “ Freedom of Choice”, “Ukrainian Youth to Christ”, “Jazz Bez”, “L’viv Weather-vanes ”, “ Metro Jazz”,  “Pink Slow”, “Listen to Ukrainian”,  Project ?”, Project “New Noah’s Ark”, Art-Club “Lyal’ka” . “Dzyga” is a  founder & producer of:   alternative radio station “Radio Iniciatyva 102,5 FM”,  opposition newspaper “L’vivs’ka Gazeta”, literary magazine “Chetver”, “Week of Actual Art “7”,  “Days of Performance in L’viv”, International Project “L-2” and many other not so  magnificent events.

15-year anniversary of Art Association “Dzyga” has resulted in the following statistic data: 394 exhibitions, 1223 club concerts, 119 exclusive concert projects, 26 festivals, 117 performances, 360 literary presentations and a great number & variety of other peculiar attractions. All together they’ve met more than 1,5 million of participants, visitors and on-lookers.

The ideological and physical centre of AA”Dzyga” is its Gallery of contemporary art situated in the ancient part  of L’viv in  35,Virmens’ka  Str.
