In 2009 Art Association “Dzyga” has conducted 218 different art actions. Here are some of them. New & successfully implemented long-term projects:
* The project «JazzClub.Lviv» has proved its power & mightiness holding 49 concerts (including Bogna Kicinski Jazz Projekt, SockolaD, Waclaw Zimpel, Arkadiy Belorukov, Tomasz Dabrowski, Mihal Yaros, Alex Maksymiv, Yuriy Yaremchuk, MT-3, Dzyga Jazz Quartet, Tender Blues, D. Kray, Dyvni, Mark Tokar, Ad libitum, Dzyga Imagine, Jazzova Fira and others), 10 master-classes and it has organized the participation of young Ukrainian jazzmen in the master-classes held in Poland (Hodzhyesh city). * The literary art-café "Cabinet" has organized 76 meetings with famous Ukrainian & foreign writers, poets, translators of literature, scholars, art-critics, etc. * The Project - literary podcasts «Kabi.net» at the competition Best Ukrainian Blog Awards was recognized to be the “Breakthrough of the Year” (thanks to that project all who know Ukrainian can always listen to the conversation with many popular and renown writers). * The audio-museum of the project "Voices On-Line" can boast of some new acquisitions, including the author’s reading of the texts by Igor Rymaruk, Pavlo Hirnyk, , Mykola Vorobyov, , Nazar Honchar, Vasyl Herasymyuk, Petro Midyanka,, Oleg Lysheha, Oles Ulyanenkao and others. * The Gallery “Dzyga” has launched the new interactive project "Social-ka" and it was elaborated and presented by Oleg Suslenko, Ruslan Tremba, Victor Melnychuk , Sergiy Petlyuk and others. * The project Photo-Club “Ch/B. 5x5” was not planned at all at the beginning of the year but it has “emerged” as a result of the irrepressible development of “Dzyga” potential & it has already held the exhibitions of the “photo-stars” Sergiy Polyakov, Igor Gayday, Kostya Smolyaninov and on Wednesdays it is the place of L’viv photographers meetings. * The jazz podcast is also a “freshly” initiated project and due to it you can approach the process of music-creation listening to the stories of Grazyna Auguscik, Andrzej Yagodzinski, Mariana Sadovska, Yuriy Yaremchuk, Fransois Thuillier, Michel Doneda, ShockolaD and other devotees of jazz. * Yuriy Izdryk (also within the Dzyga scholarship) wrote two novels "Flash Card" and "TAKE/ That Sort of Things” and the last one has won the BBC Book of the Year 2009 Award. At the beginning of April in Lublin (Poland) within the Project “L2” (Cultural Multiplication. Lublin & L’viv) “Dzyga” presented the wide-format presentation of Ukrainian art environment.. The arrival of 100 Ukrainian artists has caused the resonance among Polish cultural circles & media. The "L 2" program was mostly various: from paintings to DJs performances, from theater to multimedia projects ... The visual art (general curator – Vlodko Kaufman) was represented by Kostyrko, Kokh, Ravskyj, Furdiyaka, Koterlin, Waida, Petlyuk, Dyachyshyn, Khoroshko, Nimenko, Harkevych ... The theater was represented by the Festival of Amateur Art “Drabyna”. The music part combined the jazz concerts of "JazzClub.Lviv" members (groups "ShockolaD", "DagaDana", "Jazzova Fira") and "new media" – the "ZSUF" (Ternopil city) & the formation of L’viv DJs "RESTart". The Festival “Flugery L’vova/ Weathervanes of L’viv” as always "occurred" in early May, presenting a variety of jazz and ethno:« Dzyga Imagine »,« DagaDana »,« Bogna Kicinski Jazz Project »,« Dzyga Jazz Quartet »,« Vlasta Redl project »,« ShockolaD »,« Braty Bluesy". Traditional Festival’s action “Get Up With Mertvyj Piven” this year was “solemnly pathos-less” & dedicated to the 20-year anniversary of the group “Mertvyj Piven” with the presentation of their new album «Made in UA”
In June Lublin city hosted its traditional large-scale festival "Night of Culture" and over twenty artists and musicians from L’viv ("Dzyga” curatorship) took participation in it. The installations were presented by Vlodkaufman, Olexiy Khoroshko, Sergiy Petlyuk and Myroslav Wajda. The performance “Clean Angel or the Return of Icarus " was “demonstrated” by Volodymyr Topiy. . The experimental part was represented by the formation of DJs & VJs «RESTart». The group «ShockolaD» presented to the Polish audience its new album "Pokosy” with a special gift - a song inspired by the poetry of the famous Polish Romantic poet Juliusz Słowacki. The band "MT-3" presented their literary- jazz program (poetry of the renown Ukrainian poets Ivan Franko, B-I. Antonych and Hrytsko Chubay. . The jazz program was performed by the most experienced L’viv jazz band «Dzyga Jazz Quartet». The phantasmagoric defense forts of the I World War in the border area became the place of foundation & conduction of the major International art festival «Fort.Missia». That were three July days of non-stop stormy rock, colorful jazz, philosophical installations ... and all above mentioned was complemented by readings of famous and young Ukrainian poets. The idea is simple and creative one: the joint work of artists, poets and musicians on the ruins of war. The installations were created by the artists from Poland & almost all regions of Ukraine. The great stage “hosted” the groups "Plach Yeremiji”, "Mertvyj Piven", "Gorgisheli", "Dyvni», «Shockolad» «Fayno” ... Electronic and jazz experiments were represented by « Zsuf »,« DagaDana »,« Dzyga Jazz Quartet », DJ Derrik , "Zeleni Sestry" formation «RESTart», Polish DJ Hosh and DJ Smola, «L-Quartet. Tokar, Yaremchuk, Hnydyn, Lytvynyuk », DJ Tonika,« Waclaw Zimpel & Mark Tokar » + multimedia performance of Olexiy Khoroshko ... Literary project« Kabi.net» united many popular & young writers. From 28 August to 6 September L’viv became the venue for the major art event "Tyzhden/Week of Contemporary Art” that brought together more than 50 projects of 56 artists from Ukraine, Poland, France, Switzerland, USA, Austria, Belarus, Lithuania ... The theme/subject of the week was" BN” (ie untitled). L’viv inhabitants & the artists have discovered for themselves a new space - "Jam Factory". The chimeric building of the former canning factory with the history dated to the XVI century and that only fact provokes the creativity. . The first day of «Tyzhden’» also presented the new issue of the oldest Ukrainian art-magazine «Kitets’-Kintsem». It was published /theme «The Voice of Artist», editors Anatoliy Zvizhynskyj & Rostyslav Koterlin/ in cooperation with Art Association «Dzyga» & it included over thirty exclusive interviews with significant artists, gallery owners, curators of Ukraine, Poland and Russia «Tyzhden’» has invited many renown masters of contemporary art - Erwin Redl (USA), Patrick Bailey-Kouel (France), Janusz Baldyga (Poland), Sibylle Omlin [Switzerland] and others. The usual “Tyzhden’” structure includes Author Projects, Days of Performance Art in L’viv, MediaDepo and those “ingredients” inspired Artem Volokitin, Andriy Sahaydakovskyy and Igor Yanovych, Rostyslav Koterlin, Oleksa Furdiyak, Anatoly Belov, Sergiy Savchenko, Sergiy Petlyuk, Olexiy Khoroshko, formation REP, Stas Volyazlovsky, Olena & Max Afanasyev, Yuriy Barannik, Ruslan Tremba, Jaroslav Pershko, Ilona Silvashi, Vladimir Bakhtov, Oles’ Dzyndra, Tamara Hridyayeva, Anna Bernadska Martha Bosovska, Dominique Yalovinskyy, Denys Romanovsky, Hamlet Zinkovsky, Volodymyr Topiy, Waldeck Tatarchuk, Bogdan Shumylovych and others ... The “School of Performance” was launched within the "Days of Performance Art in L’viv” , the last one “Dzyga” organized in collaboration with the Polish Institute in Kyiv. The tutors were the most authoritative Polish performer Janusz Baldyga and Sibylle Omlin , Prof. of the Basel University. About 30 students from different regions of Ukraine finally (after the graduation from the School) demonstrated their own, quite presentable performances. Waldemar Tatarchuk., the famous Polish artist , was the curator of the “Days”. The performances were presented by Vlodko Kaufman, Yaroslav Yanovsky, Rostyslav Koterlin, Volodymyr Topy, Myroslav Wajda, Oles’ Dzyndra, Hamlet Zinkovsky, Natalia Sholomiy, Martha Bosovska, Dominique Yalovinskyy, Michal Baldyga, Denys Romanovsky.
The beginning of the current year gave the birth to the idea of a great and long-term International environment-project "Transgresii/Transgressions". The curator of the project - Myroslav Wajda. The project was started in June 2009 and consisted of several stages, each one was held in different areas: the fortifications of the I World War within the Festival "Fort.missia", "New Noah's Ark" - in Sida farm (the Carpathians), within the “Tyzhden’/Week of Contemporary Art” and in the gallery "Dzyga" (presentation of the catalogue “Transgresii”). The participants of the Project - Maxim & Olena Afanasyev, Volodymyr Bakhtov, Piotr Vysocki, Andriy Gurenko, Jaroslav Kozhyara, Dominique Yalovinski, Jaroslav Prysiazhnyuk, Ilona Silvashi, Yuri Barannik and others.
