That event was accepted as an unprecedented festival in Ukraine. It was founded by Art Association “Dzyga” and Institute of Actual Art in 2008. The second festival is to be even more presentable & powerful. Some more new trends will be added to the festival’s program. The first thing worth to be mentioned is master classes of performance. Yanush Baldyga , one of the most prominent Polish performance-artists is ready to share his experience in L’viv. Like previous festival this year one will invite thematic project “Performance Art Days in L’viv”, multimedia project “Media Depo” and different kinds of author projects / 12 distinguished artist from Ukraine, Poland, France have already applicated their participation/

Undoubtedly, Art Association “Dzyga” can’t but collaborate with “ L’viv Forum of Publishers” * As usual this year it’ll be the action “Night of Poetry”. We’ve got the proposition from our Lublin partners to present the project in Poland. Also “Dzyga” hopes that Forum’s organizers will support its initiative to hold the literary cycle of three presentations in one of the most popular Lviv theatre-houses. The cycle is devoted to the outstanding poets-symbols: Bohdan - Ihor Antonych, Hrytsko Chybay and Yuliush Slovatsky. “Dzyga” intends to organize seminars and roundtables revealing the literature processes of nations being absorbed by other states /Basque, Catalan, Lusatian Sorbs, etc - stateless nations/.
* 15 annual national book fair "Forum of Publishers- 2008” was held in Lviv as usually in mid of September. Over 400 publishing houses, book trading organizations, book shops, libraries, private entrepreneurs participated in this event. The program of the Forum provided for 130 events: presentations, readings, conferences, roundtables , meetings with more than 100 Ukrainian and 35 foreign authors. Literatures of Non-State/Stateless Nations» In 2009 «Dzyga» and «L'viv Forum of Publishers» will present a joint project «Literature of Non-State Nations» within the International Literature Festival. Ukrainian history of independence is only 18 years old, so , we are still sensitive to the problem that’s considered to be the principle of every naion’s or community existance. If taking into account spiritual autonomy - where & what is the place of language, literature and, wider, culture . What is the way stateless nations are implementing their own selfness in culture & how literature brings them to selfunderstanding? Representatives of three national literatures are experiencing different actual, present situation, their histories are different and they have endured different adversities, but they all represent European culture in all its diversity. Regarding the situation, it seems, the situation of Catalan literature is rather better than in Ukraine. Accepting /proudly/ our own /already/ independence, what can we replicate, what lessons / range from everything up to nothing/ can we take from them? Literature of Catalonia will be represented by writers Enric Casassas, Blanca Llum Vidal, Ester Xargay, Carles Hac Mor. Famous musician Pascal Comelade is also invited to participate in the project as he has a good experience of joint projects with Catalan writers. Some of them will be presented at the Festival. Catlina Girona Arguimbau and Andriy Antonovskiy, co-organizers & interpreters /Catalan side/ will be present at the Festival as well. Representatives of Crimea – Tatar literature: Gulnara Useyinova, Lyayla Alyadinova, Seiran Suleimanov. Literature of Lusatian Serbs: Kito Lorenc, Lubina Hajduk-Veljkovic, Timo Meškank, Ewa-Marja Cornakec /”negotiations” are in progress/ The planned actions: solo & group readings, evenings, tandem discussions, and a special round table.
Promo-Tour of Vinyl Plate “Ken Vandermark “Resonance” Project” Art Association “Dzyga” has invited Ken Vandermark , nowadays one of the most prominent jazz saxophonist, to perform the concerts of impromptu-jazz in L’viv and Kyiv. The concerts will be hold in autumn 2009 with the aim to promote the first time in Ukraine recorded vinyl plate of jazz “Ken Vandermark “Resonance” Project”*
Sure, “Dzyga” can be proud that “Ken Vandermark “Resonance” Project” is not only the first vinil disk of the Festival “Jazz Bez” but the first one in independent Ukraine as well. And L’viv jazz fans will be also the first to purchase it. An interesting fact is that due to the opinion of musicians & critics this disk includes records only of L’viv “Jazz Bez” concert. Though, the identical concerts were performed in Krakow & Gdansk /Poland/.
• “Ken Vandermark “Resonance” Project” is an International project initiated in 2007 by prominent jazzman Ken Vandermark /USA/. One-week project was conducted in Krakow, Gdansk and L’viv. The most perspective jazzmen from USA, Sweden, Poland and Ukraine had the possibility to perform and record improvised music in co-creation.

Inside envelop. It has a picture /one who used to soviet designs of gramophone records will be pleasantly surprised/
The envelope hides some pleasant bonus –a poster of one of the previous project’s concerts.
Two spacious compositions of impromptu- music are carried on the disk, one composition a side. To the sorrow of one who is reading: only four minutes of “Resonance” music are here.
But you can buy it. Price – 200 gryvnas. Place of distribution – Gallery “Dzyga” Place of conduction - Defensive Fortifications of I World War’s times in borderland near Shegyni.
One can hardly imagine a better place for an International festival. Phantasmagoric old forts, views of Carpathians on the right & Peremyshyl’ city /Poland/ spread before the eyes on the left create grand decorations. “Fort.Missia” will join the best Ukrainian& Polish rock-groups, jazzmen, DJs… Special attention will be paid to visual art, installations, performances. Non-typical and full of experiments event – that’s what we expect. Powerful creative teams from the both sides of the border are working hard to justify the expectations. Closer to the planned date of Festival’s opening /mid of July, 2009/ - more details are to be clarified. “Fort.Mission” is worth waiting for. “L-2”. Cultural Multiplication. Lublin & L’viv. October 16-18, 2009. For the second time Lublin city /Poland/ will present the achievements of its cultural life in L’viv. Project’s “L” idea is to assist the meetings of different cultural circles from Lublin & L’viv. First-hand communication between personalities of similar professions usually provokes all possible kinds of cultural, scientific exchange. It’s one of the best way to share knowledge, experience, know-how, etc leading to the birth of new “bridges” & new projects.
About 100 persons from Lublin will join “L-2”- 2009 to present concerts, exhibitions, master-classes, music events, multimedia projects, film demonstrations, alternative fashion presentations, performances, lectures on art & culture. Lublin team will accumulate the widest range of vanguard cultural forces seeking for creative solutions. Thus, L’viv expects the arrival of not only artists but art managers, curators, cultural workers, journalists, publicist, representatives of non- government organizations .

In 2009 Art Association “Dzyga” intends to present diversified art-projects of Vlodko Kaufman, Jevhen Ravs’kyj, Vasyl’ Bazhaj, Art Formation “KOMA” in the most prestigious exhibition-halls of Kyiv. Festival “Jazz Bez” is considered to be a unique phenomenon in Ukraine. The reason is that: 1. It’s really pity, but still jazz as itself is not very popular in our country 2. 8-year successful experience looks like miracle 3. Festival “puts on” its weight every next year. It uses to spread on in time& space. Hidden motto of “Jazz Bez” proclaims that every next year involves new cities & countries and new more unexpected and mighty musicians
Statistics speaks for itself. Festival started in 2000 with few jazz bands’ concerts in L’viv and Peremyshl /Poland/. Currently “Jazz Bez” has occupied strategically important border-cities of Ukraine and it is invading vaster & vaster territories of Poland assembling the best jazz-troops of the occidental civilization. Last year “Jazz Bez” was marked by mighty jazz marathon in 9 cities of Ukraine & Poland. 10-day Festival’s program has provided for 24 concerts of jazz bands, 93 musicians from 12 countries /Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, France, USA and Ukraine/.
For the space of eight years “Jazz Bez” has been overcoming borders & conventions. Jazz conquers the hearts of new adoptees. One can’t but remember such like events. “Jazz Bez-2009” isn’t going to make the exception of rule.

In 2008 Art Association “Dzyga” and Museum of Ideas made a start of the conceptual project “Kholod”. Proposed concept suggested artists to express their vision of the notions like: crisis of melting& disappearance, contours’ obliteration, loss of identity.
“Holod-2009” is going to assume vaster proportions, the concept will not change. It invites conceptual installation and initiates the festival of ice & snow sculptures. Curator of the snow & ice carnival is Orest Dzyndra, the winner of International Snow Sculpture Festival in Quebec-2009*. Ice personages from traditional Christmas folk-performance “Vertep” will encircle skating-rink near L’viv Town Hall.
* International Snow Sculpture Festival in Quebec /Canada/ is the most known and the world’s biggest Snow Sculpture Carnival /started in 1894/. Ukrainian team, namely Orest Dzyndra, Petro Romanchuk, Serhiy Kljapetura, and Myroslav Denyshyn were the first Ukrainian artists selected to compete in Snow Sculpture Festival in Quebec Canada, in the official program of 22nd International Ice-Carving Competition Crystal Garden in in Ottawa and 4th National Festival of Snow Sculptures in Rouyn-Noranda. In Quebec Ukrainian artists had presented the composition “Vertep” / height – 4 m., length – 6,4 m., width – 3 m/ which was recognized to be the best. Myroslaw Denyshyn’s composition “Angel” won the second prize in Ottawa.
