28 January, as usually at 7 pm, the Club members gathered at 35 Virmenska street & celebrated the first anniversary of the «Jazz Club.Lviv » (with a cup of hot mulled wine).
Dana Vynnytska congratulated all present & (briefly) informed the Club members on the changes of membership – this year an annual fee that allows you to “enjoy” all the privileges of the Club is 200 UAH.
She also announced the events calendar of the Club, namely:
4 February - Concert: the new program of the band «Dzyga Jazz Quartet» (it was presented within the Festival “Jazz Bez-09” only in Poland and Sevastopol, so L’viv was “bamboozled” and now we have the chance to “meet justice”. 11 February - Jam session: Martyn Tverdun, Kyryl Abramov, Andriy Voytyuk, Sergiy Fedorchuk.
18 February - Concert: the new program "Scandinavian Motifs" presented by the "Lytvinyuk - Hnydyn – Fedorchuk Trio”
The brief organizational speech was followed by Jam session, some unique phenomenon in jazz music allowing to create music "here and now”, without the prior rehearsals and preparations. I’d like to draw attention to a young bass player Sergiy Fedorchuk who seems to be able to compete in the soonest time with Mark Tokar. Also we had the chance to listen to the drummers Alik Fantaev from Kyiv and the legendary Igor "Martsyfal" Lesko from L’viv. Dana Vynnytska & her vocals mesmerized everybody and Martyn Tverdun , Anastasia Lytvynyuk, Sergiy Fedorchuk and Alik Fantayev performed a very harmonious Jam session.
But it’s better to listen to music then to read about it.
And I’d like to stress (my point of view) that the first year of the «JazzClub. Lviv» was extremely successful, I’m sure that the next one will be even better. Everyone can join the jazz community, more detailed information http://dzyga.com/jcl
